Spiritual Climate in France:
A missionary in Paris, has noted that while people in France are spiritually hungry, they are not finding satisfaction in traditional religion since they have been estranged from it for over 200 years. France is known for its secularism even as culturally speaking, it maintains a strong Catholic identity. However, in The growing Muslim population along with social, economic and political have contributed to this renewed spiritual hunger as French men and women seek to renew their sense of what it means to be French. In this renewed search for spiritual meaning people are often drawn to the esoteric and a belief in an impersonal God. This spiritual hunger opens the door for believers to contrast the hope and love found in Christ to the empty and purposeless pursuit of God apart from a personal relationship through Jesus
On the Ground:
Working on the French Riviera (in and around Nice) as well as in Monaco the “Riviera Partnerships” ministry team has been sharing the Gospel and building bridges of relationships since 2005. The reality is that there is still very little Christian influence on the Riviera where life should, by all measurements, be perfect. Monaco has the highest GDP/person of any country in the world. However, heartache, guilt, depression and fear invade many lives. The love of Jesus and the hope found in the Gospel is desperately needed here. In this ministry environment God continues to give the Riviera Partnership team great favor and wonderful opportunities to share Christ through meaningful relationships developed through discussion groups, outreach events and MANY one on one encounters and sharing-life-together moments.
